Commissioner Childs elected to Circuit Court

Commissioner J. Michele Childs has resigned her position at the Commission following her election to the circuit court.  On May 24, 2006, she was elected by the South Carolina General Assembly to the position of Circuit Court Judge At-Large, Seat 9.  She began her new duties Monday, August 14, 2006.  Her resignation from the Commission was effective August 13, 2006.
 
Commissioner Childs was appointed to the Commission by Gov. Jim Hodges to serve a six-year term beginning July 1, 2002.  Prior to coming to the Commission she was Deputy Director, Division of Labor at the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
